Cheyne-Stokes respiration (CSR) is a hallmark of haemodynamic instability and heart failure, yet its clinical utility has been largely confined to laboratory-based polysomnography. Emerging evidence demonstrates that modern CPAP devices can detect and longitudinally track CSR in the home setting. This creates a unique opportunity to transform routine CPAP therapy into a scalable cardiovascular monitoring platform. This symposium will synthesise current evidence on CPAP-derived CSR (CPAP-CSR) as a digital biomarker for heart failure presence, progression, and exacerbation. Internationally relevant data from telemonitoring cohorts and waveform analyses will be discussed, alongside methodological considerations including algorithm variability and clinical implementation. Attendees will gain insight into how CPAP-derived ventilatory instability may function as an early-warning system for heart failure and how this technology could integrate into future surveillance frameworks.

Her research spans collaborations with academic and industry partners, translating scientific discoveries into practical innovations that support better sleep, healthier lifestyles, and improved wellbeing.
