Dr. Kartik Iyer is a developmental neuroscientist and biomedical engineer at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. His research focuses on developing objective analytical methods to characterise brain and physiological development across infancy, childhood, and adolescence using large-scale clinical datasets. He has developed automated tools for developmental monitoring and outcome prediction through collaborations spanning sleep medicine, neurodevelopment, and biomedical engineering. His current translational work includes physiological brain-age modelling and wearable technologies for at-home sleep and developmental surveillance, with the aim of enabling continuous and clinically meaningful monitoring beyond traditional healthcare settings.

Dr Lauren Nisbet is a clinician-scientist with a consultant position at the Melbourne Children’s Sleep Centre, and a clinician fellowship awarded through Equity Trustees and Monash Partners.

George is in the third year of his PhD, which he is completing at the Child Health Research Centre in Brisbane. George is fascinated by sleep research involving novel technologies, and was fortunately offered the opportunity to work with the data presented here as part of an industry placement during his studies.

Jess is a Research Officer in the Adolescent Mental Health Research Team at the Black Dog Institute. Her research currently focuses on developing and evaluating large-scale interventions to improve adolescent sleep.

Dr Mon Ohn is a Consultant Respiratory and Sleep Physician at Perth Children’s Hospital. She is also a Clinical Research Fellow at The Kids Research Institute Australia and the Institute for Paediatric Perioperative Excellence at UWA. Mon completed her PhD at the University of Western Australia, focusing on safety and quality in paediatric obstructive sleep apnoea, and continues to lead research to improve the diagnosis and management of sleep disordered breathing in children. Mon is a principal Investigator on several ongoing paediatric sleep and perioperative studies, reflecting her growing contribution to the field.

Emily is a newly minted postgraduate researcher and Fulbright scholar. Her PhD project investigated how daily outdoor light exposure may support infant sleep in the context of their naturalistic, everyday lives. Her work highlights the importance of considering the early development of circadian and homeostatic processes that underpin sleep patterns, and how both these processes may be independently impacted by daily light exposure. Passionate about sleep measurement tools and their application in early childhood populations, Emily works with complex longitudinal datasets with a focus to support the sleep and development of young children and inform policy and practice.

Dr Moya Vandeleur is a paediatric respiratory and sleep medicine specialist at RCH, Melbourne and the lead for sleep research. She is the clinical lead for the RCH ventilation service and co-authored "Ventilatory support at home for children: A joint position paper from the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand/Australasian Sleep Association" (Respirology, 2021).
