This symposium provides an update in evidence relevant to anyone working in the field of paediatric sleep medicine and will cover highlights of the literature published in 2024/25. It aims to cover both respiratory and behavioural sleep topics as well as a showcase of “Australian/New Zealand (ANZ) papers in 2024/25”.

Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Staff Specialist at John Hunter Children’s Hospital in Newcastle.
Previous medical lead for 10 years for the Paediatric Respiratory Sleep Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), the largest paediatric hospital in the UK after having trained in Belgium, Australia (Westmead) and London (GOSH).
Helped to create then co-chaired the British Paediatric Sleep Society for over 5 years.
Experience and publications in complex paediatric sleep disorders and paediatric NIV especially in genetic and neuromuscular conditions.

Associate Professor Helen ( Honey) Heussler is a Clinician Researcher with a full time clinical load. she is a Sleep Physician and Developmental paediatrician with research and practice focussed on children with Neurodisability and Sleep issues. She has been practicing in this field for over 20 years. She also leads the Clinical trials in Rare Neurodevelopmental disorders Team at QCH focusing on symptom support and advanced therapeutics for various areas of neurodisability.
