Biography

Dr Glenn Stewart is a Senior Research Fellow within the Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney and Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, Royal North Shore Hospital. His work is embedded within the Sleep Research Group at the Charles Perkins Centre and examines heart-lung interactions in health and disease with a major focus on the link between sleep-disordered breathing and cardiovascular disease.

His research focuses on investigating the bi-directionality between Obstructive Sleep apnea and comorbid psychological conditions including insomnia disorder and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

She holds a Master of Sciences from Universidade de São Paulo (2022), an MBA in Hospital Administration and Health Systems (2015) from Fundação Getulio Vargas and a specialist title in respiratory phisiotherapy (2012) from Universidade Federal de São Paulo.

His research specializes in signal processing and medical data analysis, particularly within large sleep cohorts. He develops computational methods for detecting and predicting arrhythmias, emphasizing atrial fibrillation termination and cardiovascular event prediction. His works have been published in leading journals like the European Heart Journal, Chest, the International Journal of Cardiology, and the Journal of Hypertension.
