Details

Sleep disorders have a significant impact on the quality of life for millions of people, but the importance of patient perspectives in research and clinical practice is not well understood. This symposium will begin with an introduction to the value of lived experience, and will discuss the #PatientsIncluded movement and how patient perspectives can help inform advocacy, education, research, policy and practice. We will explore the impact of sleep disorders from the perspectives of people with lived experience, and will include interviews from a diverse range of people with sleep disorders. We will also share our experiences establishing lived experience groups. This symposium is held in conjunction with Consumer Reference Groups from the Sleep Health Foundation and the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health.
