Biography

Blake Mills is a 3rd year medical student at Deakin University. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiology, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine from The University of Western Australia and a Graduate Certificate in Adult Sleep Science. Prior to his medical studies, Blake worked clinically as a sleep scientist for over 4 years. His current research focuses on investigating the prevalence and predictors of comorbid insomnia and sleep apnoea in diverse patient populations, and is a recipient of the Monash University Summer Vacation Research Scholarship at the Eastern Health Clinical School.

Biography

Dr Gayan Kathriachchige is a respiratory physician who is completing a fellowship in Sleep Medicine, NIV and peri-operative sleep at Alfred Health, Melbourne in 2024. He is an early career researcher with respiratory papers published in BMJ Open, Respirology and IMJ. He is now focusing on sleep research, with a keen interest in peri-operative management of sleep apnoea.

Biography

Dr Marnie Graco is a post-doctoral clinician researcher and implementation scientist with a clinical background in physiotherapy. Her PhD (University of Melbourne 2019) investigated the clinical management of sleep disordered breathing in people with spinal cord injury. Dr Graco’s research aims to improve the health and quality of life of people living with neuromuscular diseases, by increasing the uptake of evidence-based treatments of their sleep and breathing disorders. She currently works at the Institute for Breathing and Sleep (Austin Health, Melbourne) as an Implementation Scientist.

Biography

Brett is currently the Laboratory Director of the Sleep Disorders Centre at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, a NATA accredited public sleep facility. Within the profession, Brett has held various roles within ANZSSA and the ASA. Brett is also a sessional lecturer for Griffith University in their Graduate Clinical Physiology program. From a research perspective, Brett interests focus on obstructive sleep apnoea and snoring, sleep diagnostics and ventilator technologies. Brett doesn’t do long walks on deserted beaches.

Shi Min is a Sleep Technologist in Singapore General Hospital since 2017. She has attained her Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) certification in 2021. Her role comprises of performing a range of diagnostic investigations and therapeutic interventions such as CPAP/BiPAP therapies, educating and conducting sleep studies for patients with sleep disorders. She is also part of the Chronic NIV team that cares for patients on long term BiPAP management. In addition, she collaborates with Medical Social Services (MSS) to seek alternatives for lesser cost and financial strain for the patients.
