Details

This workshop has been cancelled. This workshop introduces a new rational number assessment tool currently being developed to support the increased emphasis on rational numbers in the mathematics curriculum. The tool is designed to help teachers identify students’ strengths and areas for further learning in rational number concepts through a formative, adaptive assessment approach. Participants will explore the design of the tool, including the underlying construct and framework that inform the assessment. The workshop will include a demonstration of the assessment items and the adaptive testing process, and attendees will have opportunities to view and work with sample items. The session will highlight how the tool can provide useful information to support teaching and learning by helping teachers identify areas where students may need additional support. Attendees will gain practical insight into how the tool can be used formatively in classroom contexts.
