Biography

Dr Beverley Booth began her teaching career in 1980 in the UK. Her keen interest in assessment was sparked in the late 1990s, inspired by the work of Dylan Wiliam and Paul Black. Following her immigration to NZ in 2008 she embarked on doctoral study in the area of teacher assessment capability. Beverley has always been a practitioner at heart and throughout a lengthy career has led schools in the Uk and NZ through many periods of change. She has been the principal of Devonport Primary School in Auckland for 8 years.

Biography

Denise has been in education since 1993. She has been in several leadership roles including SENCo, Curriculum Leads, Assessment for Learning in School Leaders, Deputy Principal and has been Principal at Sandspit Road School for three years. Inspired by leading educationalists and gurus such as Michael Absolum, John Hattie and Dylan Wiliam, Denise has a passion for developing student agency, believing that if we get the classroom learning culture right, aakonga should be able to speak as confidently about their learning as any teacher would.
