This workshop shares our school’s journey of realigning Developing Mathematical Inquiry Communities (DMIC) with the refreshed mathematics curriculum using the Complex Problem Solving (CPS) improvement model
DMIC and CPS
Following the introduction of the new curriculum, we identified a growing misalignment between established DMIC practices and curriculum expectations. Through a structured five stage improvement process, we clarified the core problem, identified root causes, defined solution requirements, and implemented curriculum aligned task design and leadership shifts.
Participants will explore how we balanced fidelity to DMIC reasoning rich pedagogy with strengthened curriculum sequencing and assessment clarity. We will share evidence of impact including improved task progression, teacher confidence, and strengthened student understanding.
