Biography

Matthew Johnson is the General Representative on the ICP Executive Committee (and newly elected President-Elect for the 2028–2029 term. TBC) A visionary leader with 37 years of dedicated service to the NSW Department of Education, Matthew has served as a principal across five special schools, championing inclusive education. He currently leads as the National President and CEO of the Australian Special Education Principals’ Association (ASEPA). A former NSW Premiers’ Special Education Scholar, Matthew’s career spans regional leadership and national advisory roles, driven by his mission to ensure students with disabilities have a powerful voice.

Biography

Magdalena Kassis is the Americas Representative on the ICP Executive Committee and a prominent Canadian educator. Magdalena currently serves as Deputy Executive Director of the British Columbia Principals’ & Vice-Principals’ Association (BCPVPA), having previously held vital roles as Acting Executive Director and Director of Member Support Services. Her extensive leadership experience spans provincial, district, and school levels, including an impactful tenure as Director of Instruction in the Vancouver School District. Dedicated to global dialogue, Magdalena’s work is deeply grounded in strategic governance, equity, reconciliation, and advancing Indigenous education priorities.

Biography

Welcome Sipho Mhlanga is the Africa Representative on the ICP Executive Committee and a distinguished educational leader, policy specialist, and lecturer from the Kingdom of Eswatini. With over 30 years in education, Welcome currently serves as Principal of the prestigious Ka-Boyce High School and as a Board Member of the Examinations Council of Eswatini. A champion of quality education, he is the former President of both the Eswatini Principals Association and the African Confederation of Principals. Currently pursuing a PhD, Welcome also lectures in Educational Policy and Management, shaping school leadership, locally, regionally and across the globe.

Biography

Damian White is the Europe Representative on the ICP Executive Committee and a renowned leader in Irish education. Over a 30-year tenure as Principal of Scoil Shinchill, Damian simultaneously shaped national policy as a founder, Board member, and former President of the Irish Primary Principals’ Network (IPPN). Currently serving as a Patrons Representative for 162 schools, he remains deeply committed to leadership development as the National Co-ordinator for Principal Support Groups. Beyond education, Damian is a prolific writer, Chairman of the GAA History Committee, and spent seven years hosting the Saturday Sports Show on Midlands 103.
