Biography
Nicholas Burt is CEO of the Facility Management Association of Australia (FMA). He has over 20 years’ leadership experience, including appointments at the senior executive level within the community services and facility management sectors for both NGOs and local government. His roles have covered the entire spectrum of policy development and planning, program implementation and management. During his time with the FMA, Nic’s commitment to improving process has helped to drive industry development and deliver high-quality services to stakeholders in the facilities management sector. Nic also chairs the Standards Australia technical committee MB-022, Facilities Management, and was involved in the development of the new ISO standards for facilities management.

Biography
Originally qualified as a building services engineer, Conor Cooney has over 25 years’ experience in the field of asset and facility management. Conor has worked with a broad range of clients in both the private and public sectors, supporting and guiding them on their journey to produce better performing people and assets. His aim is to assist clients to run responsible businesses, develop strong operational resilience, enhance performance, generate new capital investment and use digital platforms to turn business data into valuable outcomes. Conor has worked on projects across Europe, Australasia, the Middle East, the Americas and beyond. Conor is a Certified Facility Manager with the Institute of Workplace and Facility Management (IWFM) and holds an Institute of Asset Management (IAM) certification in addition to his building services degree. He is a former Chair of IAM (Munster region) and is the current Chair of IWFM Ireland committee.

Biography
Laurie Gilmer is President and COO at FEA. Laurie’s primary areas of expertise include facility systems assessments, energy management, sustainability, and facility management organizational analyses. She is a published author and instructor. Laurie is a past Chair of the Global Board of Directors for the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). She represents IFMA on ASHRAE’s Efficient Building Operations Multi-disciplinary Task Group. She serves on the National Visiting Committee of Building Efficiency for a Sustainable Tomorrow (BEST) Center and represents IFMA in the Building Industry Decarbonization Collaborative.

Managing director at Cushman & Wakefield, Paul has over 30 years’ experience in the hospitality/facility services and facilities management industries in the UK and New Zealand.
His general management capabilities and drive for excellence in service delivery means customers receive a focused and effective range of services. A specialist in the government sector, with PPP (public-private partnerships) and corporate account experience, Paul is focused on team development and advancing the industry in New Zealand to be more partnership driven.
Paul was elected to the FMANZ Board in October 2019 and is a Certified Member of FMANZ (CFMANZ).
