We invite you to join us for a deep dive into the procurement process of major projects. We’ll share with you the knowledge we’ve gained from our work over the last 14 years – the successful projects that stayed within plans and budgets, highlighting the stark contrasts to all-too-common cost and time overruns.
We will explore how early engagement and partnership with Facilities Managers can mitigate pitfalls in the planning stages, where changes are less costly than mid-project adjustments affecting the entire workforce. This proactive approach clears the path ahead.
Competitive tendering can be effective when all parties have access to comprehensive information, such as for new builds on stable ground. However, dealing with existing buildings presents challenges, such as missing documentation, uncertain deterioration levels, and speculative council requirements. Incomplete or impracticable designs exacerbate these challenges.
It is possible to avoid the frustration of escalating tender prices by partnering early and employing tried-and-tested methods to understand the real final price. This approach ensures a successful outcome rather than a completed project that leaves a sour taste.
Post-project, with comprehensive documentation provided, Facilities Managers can reset property planning for continued operation.
It’s a process that FMs, CFOs, and Occupiers can plan for and rely on.
