Details

Finding the right people with the right skills for a Facilities Management role can be a tough gig at the moment with a limited pool of applicants with the exact skill set desired. But perhaps, as a sector, we are narrowly defining the core requirements, heavy emphasis on trade expertise and thereby inadvertently overlooking or bypassing some of the diverse talents existing in our own ranks. Much like Te Rehutai shapes the bow-wave, we can benefit from taking a more holistic approach when recruiting. Angela Yannakis is Delivery Manager at Citycare Property for the Christchurch International Airport, and she is evidence that organisations don’t need to take a traditional approach when it comes to FM recruitment. Angela shares her background and career history as proof that businesses must take a deeper view when recruiting, look to uncover some of the gems that you have and find that hidden talent.
