Biography

Dr Cathy Bebelman is scientist with expertise in the technical areas of water quality, environmental sustainability and transport infrastructure. Cathy has an extensive background and knowledge in the environmental impacts of infrastructure and transport networks, working as a researcher and consultant in the public sector for over 25 years. While Cathy has a strong technical background (water and contaminant issues), she advocates for a holistic approach to management of the climate and environment. More recently Cathy accepted a role as Auckland Transports Chief Scientist (Head of Science and Sustainability). She is passionate about good science, evidence-based decision making and brings an alternative perspective to the more traditional approaches. She uses her role to position Auckland for a lower carbon and greener future, while providing thought leadership across Auckland Transport.

Dr Dominic Brown

Biography

As the Head of International Research, Cushman & Wakefield, Dominic leads the insight and analysis teams across the APAC and EMEA regions, in addition to leading the national research function for Australia/New Zealand. In all roles he oversees the timely production of strategic thought-leadership and research with a focus on understanding key market drivers and what they mean in practical terms for real estate occupiers and investors. Dominic’s background is in academia with an Honours degree and a PhD in Population Geography. He has authored a range of peer-reviewed publications as well as a wide array of professional conference presentations. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Geography, Planning and Environmental Management at the University of Queensland. Dominic’s analysis includes studies of the urban environment at both micro through to macro levels. This analysis includes investment and leasing trends in commercial real estate, residential need assessments, centres network strategies, industrial land demand studies and strategic economic development opportunity studies such as the Brisbane CBD Retail Business Development Study. In recognition of this expertise, he has also given evidence before the Planning and Environment Court of Queensland as an independent expert witness.

Biography

Jane is on a mission to improve the performance of the building and construction sector. She has been driving system transformation across the construction sector for the past 20 years. Jane has international leadership experience including at the World Bank, at the nexus of sustainability, innovation and impact investment. Since returning to Aotearoa in 2020, Jane’s has been leading strategy development across government and industry on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and digital innovation, at the Construction Sector Accord, now with Aurecon. She also has board advisory roles and start-up interests in the construction sector.

Biography

Andrew is a senior programme and project leader in major infrastructure development and asset management, whose experience in the last twenty years has spanned across renewable energy, correctional facilities, and transport. In that time he has led five of New Zealand’s eight PPPs, and network-wide asset management and FM arrangements in challenging environments. Andrew leans towards performance outcome based contracting models where client prescription on inputs is reduced and risks are owned by the party best able to manage them. He is currently the National Manager Commercial Delivery at NZTA, overseeing the re-activation of the agencies PPP programme.

Biography

At the helm of ChargeNet is CEO Danusia Wypych, who holds dual degrees in science and law, and has an extensive background in both the energy and transport sectors. She has held transformational senior roles at Transpower and Z Energy. As ChargeNet’s CEO, she is driving their mission to double the capacity of their fast-charging network over 3 years. Her strategic leadership ensures that everyday drivers have convenient access to charging stations whenever and wherever they need them.
