Te Paea Ma'u is a first year student at Waipapa Taumata Rau, The University of Auckland. She is undertaking her first year of the Bachelor of Science, specialising in Biomedical Science, as a pathway to study medicine. Her iwi affiliations are Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Apakura, and Te Aitanga-ā-Māhaki. She is also from Tonga, where her villages are Kolomotu'a, Vaimalō and Masilamea, Vava'u. Schooled through Kohanga, Kura Kaupapa, and Wharekura, her passion is making a difference for Māori and Pasifika communities.
