Dr Niamh Chapman is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sydney and leads the People and Systems Hypertension Team. Niamh completed her PhD in 2021 at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania and maintains an ongoing collaborative connection to Tasmania, as Adjunct Senior Research Fellow.

Biography

Dr. Ross Tsuyuki is a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Director of the EPICORE Centre (a health research coordinating centre) at the University of Alberta and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Pharmacists Journal. Having previously served on Hypertension Canada’s Board of Directors, Dr. Tsuyuki was elected in 2019 and appointed Vice-President. He also serves as a Chair of the Education & Implementation Committee and is a member of the Hypertension Canada Guidelines Committee. Dr. Tsuyuki’s interests are in clinical trials design and execution, hypertension, heart failure, community practice-based research, cardiovascular risk factors, and in the provision of support for clinical researchers through the EPIRCORE Centre. Dr. Tsuyuki has received several awards for teaching, as well as an appointment as a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the American College of Cardiology and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. In 2005, he was recognized as the Canadian Pharmacist of the Year by the Canadian Pharmacists Association and the International Society of Hypertension.

Biography

Cathleen Biga, MSN, MACC, is president and CEO of Cardiovascular Management of Illinois, a cardiology physician practice management company. She has worked with more than 100 cardiovascular providers in the Chicago area and partners in their cardiovascular service lines at more than 14 acute care hospitals. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the Mayo/College of St. Teresa and master of science in nursing from Northern Illinois University School of Nursing. Biga has more than 40 years of experience as a registered nurse, service line director, hospital vice president and CEO. She is focused on facilitating the integration of strategic, financial, and quality perspectives between cardiovascular service lines at practices and hospitals. In addition, she consults and lectures on numerous contemporary cardiovascular topics. Biga is a Past President of the American College of Cardiology, a member of ACC's Board of Trustees, a past member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Board and was the inaugural chair of MedAxiom's Board of Managers.

Biography

Professor Fadi Charchar is the Director of the Health Innovation and Transformation Centre at Federation University. Professorial Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne and Visiting Chair at University of Leicester, UK. Professor Charchar is the President of the International Society of Heart Research. He previously completed a Wellcome Trust Fellowship, an NHMRC Career Development Fellowship and a British Heart Foundation Lectureship in the UK. His research interest is in the understanding of the genetic mechanisms of cardiovascular disease with publications in the Lancet, Nature, and Nature Genetics.

Biography

Dr Marie-Claire Seeley is a Senior Research Fellow at Adelaide University, Churchill Fellow, and CEO of the Australian POTS Foundation. A leading nurse clinician researcher in autonomic disorders, she specialises in postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), post-acute sequelae of COVID-19, and autonomic dysfunction in non-obstructive cardiac disorders. She established Australia’s first POTS registry and champions consumer-led research to improve clinical care and health policy, informed by more than 30 years of lived experience.
