Cathleen Biga, MSN, MACC, is president and CEO of Cardiovascular Management of Illinois, a cardiology physician practice management company. She has worked with more than 100 cardiovascular providers in the Chicago area and partners in their cardiovascular service lines at more than 14 acute care hospitals. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the Mayo/College of St. Teresa and master of science in nursing from Northern Illinois University School of Nursing. Biga has more than 40 years of experience as a registered nurse, service line director, hospital vice president and CEO. She is focused on facilitating the integration of strategic, financial, and quality perspectives between cardiovascular service lines at practices and hospitals. In addition, she consults and lectures on numerous contemporary cardiovascular topics. Biga is a Past President of the American College of Cardiology, a member of ACC's Board of Trustees, a past member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Board and was the inaugural chair of MedAxiom's Board of Managers.

Professor Patricia M. Davidson RN PhD FAHA, FAHMS is a Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Fellow at the University of New South Wales and Co-Director of the International Centre for Future Health Systems. She is chair of Her Heart, the NSW International Education Advisory Board and Deputy Chair of the Research Australia board.

Dr. Patel is a consultant cardiologist with a specialization in advanced heart failure, inherited heart muscle disease, and cardiac devices. He earned a postdoctoral research degree from University College London, where he investigated the role of fibrosis in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation before establishing the inherited heart muscle disease program at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Western Australia. Dr. Patel remains actively engaged in research aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes and exploring the underlying pathways involved in the development of inherited cardiac diseases.

With over 16 years’ experience in coronary care, cardiology and angiography suites, as well as coordinating a multidisciplinary program for transcatheter heart valve assessment and management, Jen has established herself as a nursing expert in the field of valvular heart disease. As a program coordinator since 2011, Jen pioneered the role in Australia and New Zealand becoming the first nurse to manage a program independently. Her commitment to excellence led to her completing of a master’s in nursing qualification to become a nurse practitioner which has enabled her to optimise patient outcomes and drive the recognition of nursing contributions in in every aspect of care delivery. She is an active member of the Structural Heart Coordinator Steering Committee and contributes to educational and training needs for coordinators across Australia and New Zealand. Jen also participates in consumer advocacy groups and chairs a consumer engagement group for several heart-valve related research projects.

Carrie Hayter is a lived-experience and human rights advocate with 30+ years improving aged care, disability and health systems through involving consumers, patients and carers in service system design. She is Managing Director of Carrie Hayter Consulting, helping organisations strengthen consumer voice in service design and health and medical research, and holds honours degrees in Social Work (UNSW) and Economics (University of Sydney). She has lived experience of Coronary Artery Disease and is the Consumer Co-Chair of the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Consumer and Community Involvement Working Group and a Consumer Representative on the Westmead Applied Research Centre at The University of Sydney.

Professor Caleb Ferguson RN PhD is a Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellow and Director of the Centre for Chronic & Complex Care Research at Blacktown Hospital, a collaborative research partnership between University of Wollongong & Western Sydney LHD. He leads a program of research in cardio-geriatric care and frailty science. He is current Chair of the CSANZ Cardiovascular Nursing Council and Cardiovascular Nursing Section Editor for Heart, Lung & Circulation.
