Perry Elliott is director of the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science and a consultant cardiologist at St. Bartholomew's Hospital London. He is past chairman of the ESC Heart Academy, the ESC Council on Cardiovascular Genomics, the ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and the Executive Committee for the European Outcomes Research Programme registry on cardiomyopathies. He is an executive Editor for the European Heart Journal. For almost 30 years, he has led numerous international consortia and has made substantial scientific and policy contributions including clinical risk tools, discovery of rare and common genetic causes of inherited heart conditions, and US and European Practice guidelines. He has published more than 800 articles in the field and was listed in Clarivate’s annual ‘Highly Cited Researchers List’ in 2024 and 2025. He is founder and chair of the International Cardiomyopathy Network and President of Cardiomyopathy UK.

Dr Jamie-Lee Thompson is a Postdoctoral Scientist in the Computational Genomics Laboratory at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. She received her PhD from Bond University in 2022, where she developed bioinformatics pipelines for transcriptomic and epigenetic data analysis, and was awarded the Vice-Chancellor's PhD Award for this work. In her current role, Dr Thompson specialises in understanding the genetic architecture of cardiovascular disease, with a focus on congenital heart disease and dilated cardiomyopathy. She uses polygenic risk scores to capture the cumulative effect of common genetic variants on disease susceptibility. Her research aims to develop and validate PRS methods tailored to congenital heart disease and dilated cardiomyopathy, with the goal of improving diagnostic yield and enabling clinical implementation for patients with heritable cardiac disease.

Professionally affiliated with the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and areas of interest include the cardiac genetics of familial atrial fibrillation and dilated cardiomyopathy.

Dr. Carlos Smith-Diaz is a postdoctoral genomics research scientist in the Ingles Lab at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. He is also a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. After completing his PhD in epigenetics at the University of Otago, New Zealand in 2024, Carlos moved to Sydney to work for Associate Professor Jodie Ingles. His current research focusses on discovering and validating novel genetic causes of inherited cardiovascular disease. This work involves the use of whole genome sequencing, RNA sequencing and proteomics to identify answers for families with gene-elusive cardiac conditions.

Jiayue-Clara Jiang is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, the University of Queensland. Clara's research focuses on using genomic and transcriptomic analysis to investigate the genetic basis of cardiovascular and psychiatric disorders, with a particular focus on female health, as well as using statistical genomic approaches to explore possible opportunities for drug repurposing.

Jack is a final year Advanced Trainee in Paediatric Cardiology, based at the Children's Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick. He is enrolled in a PhD through the University of Sydney examining the contemporary epidemiology, management and outcomes of myocarditis in newborns, children and adolescents. His clinical interests include cardiomyopathy, advanced heart failure, transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.

Dr. Stacey Peters is a cardiologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She specializes in genetic cardiomyopathies. she conducted her PhD with Prof. Diane Fatkin, and her ongoing research continues to evaluate genotype-phenotype interactions and the role of environment factors in the natural history of dilated and arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathies.
