Dr Sumita Barua is an advanced heart failure/transplant cardiologist at St Vincent's Hospital Sydney and conjoint lecturer with the University of New South Wales. She completed cardiology training at Westmead Hospital, PhD at St Vincent's Hospital and subsequent clinical fellowship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation. Her research interests include cardiogenic shock, temporary mechanical circulatory support and cardiorenal syndrome in advanced heart failure.

Dr Sonia Sawant is a Cardiology Advanced Trainee at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. She holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Sydney and a Master of Public Health from Imperial College London. Her research focuses on cardiovascular outcomes, public health and advanced heart failure.
