Edmund Lau is a respiratory physician working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney and Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Sydney. He is the lead Respiratory Physician of the Pulmonary Hypertension Service at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He was previously a post-doctoral research fellow at the French National Referral Centre for Severe Pulmonary Hypertension. He is the Medical Director of the Australian and New Zealand Pulmonary Hypertension Registry. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications on the topic of pulmonary hypertension.

Perry Elliott is director of the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science and a consultant cardiologist at St. Bartholomew's Hospital London. He is past chairman of the ESC Heart Academy, the ESC Council on Cardiovascular Genomics, the ESC Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases and the Executive Committee for the European Outcomes Research Programme registry on cardiomyopathies. He is an executive Editor for the European Heart Journal. For almost 30 years, he has led numerous international consortia and has made substantial scientific and policy contributions including clinical risk tools, discovery of rare and common genetic causes of inherited heart conditions, and US and European Practice guidelines. He has published more than 800 articles in the field and was listed in Clarivate’s annual ‘Highly Cited Researchers List’ in 2024 and 2025. He is founder and chair of the International Cardiomyopathy Network and President of Cardiomyopathy UK.

Biography
Professor Liza Thomas is a Conjoint Professor at Sydney University, Adjunct Professor University of New South Wales. and Clinical Lead for cardiac imaging at Westmead Hospital.
Her research focuses on echocardiography; specific interests include imaging for the assessment of atrial dynamics and function, diastolic function, chemotherapy induced cardiomyopathy, amyloid and Fabry cardiomyopathies and cardiac involvement in metabolic disease and chronic kidney disease.
Professor Thomas is actively involved in undergraduate/postgraduate medical student and sonographer education. She supervises several PhD and Masters students. She is an section editor for Heart, Lung and Circulation and on the editorial board for JACC CV Imaging and JASE. Liza has been invited to present her work at national and international meetings and has published extensively
