Dr. Ross Tsuyuki is a Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and Director of the EPICORE Centre (a health research coordinating centre) at the University of Alberta and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Pharmacists Journal. Having previously served on Hypertension Canada’s Board of Directors, Dr. Tsuyuki was elected in 2019 and appointed Vice-President. He also serves as a Chair of the Education & Implementation Committee and is a member of the Hypertension Canada Guidelines Committee.
Dr. Tsuyuki’s interests are in clinical trials design and execution, hypertension, heart failure, community practice-based research, cardiovascular risk factors, and in the provision of support for clinical researchers through the EPIRCORE Centre. Dr. Tsuyuki has received several awards for teaching, as well as an appointment as a Fellow of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the American College of Cardiology and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. In 2005, he was recognized as the Canadian Pharmacist of the Year by the Canadian Pharmacists Association and the International Society of Hypertension.

Dr Cal Paterson is a Clinical and Supervising Psychologist based in Sydney. With 25 years’ experience as a behavioural and mental health practitioner, Cal has been both working and teaching in the obesity field for the past 15 years. Cal has published papers on behaviour change and recently published a discussion paper in the Journal of Public Health Ethics, titled ‘Should Weight be given less Weight in Public Health?’

Sonia is a Group Leader and Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellowship based at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, The University of Queensland. Her research uses large-scale genomics and health data to improve the understanding of cardiovascular disease, with the goal to improve disease prevention and facilitate drug discovery. Her previous research uncovered a polygenic contribution in Familial Hypercholesterolemia, and she co-led the first large-scale genetic study of heart failure. Her current research is focused on addressing the diversity gap in cardiovascular research, with a focus on understanding risk in women, and she leads the South Asian Genes and Health in Australia study. She is the recipient of the Australian Academy of Science Ruth Stephens Gani Medal for her contribution to human genetics research.

Angelo Sabag is a Senior Lecturer and an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with over 10 years of clinical experience. Dr Sabag's primary research area focuses on identifying efficacious exercise approaches for the management of cardiometabolic health in adults with or at risk of obesity-related disease.
Dr Sabag has led multiple clinical trials involving exercise interventions and authored national and international exercise guidelines for metabolic disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome and fatty liver disease.

Prof Wu is a Professor and the Head of the Nutrition Science Program at the George Institute for Global Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales.
Jason's research and teaching focuses on reducing diet-related diseases through advocating for population-wide food policies, implementing innovative ‘Food is Medicine’ interventions, and determining the role of dietary factors for cardiometabolic diseases prevention.
