He holds honorary cardiologist or professorial positions at Alfred Health, The University of Sydney, and Monash University, and has co-chairs key Australian national cardiovascular guidelines. With over 700 peer-reviewed publications cited more than 60,000 times, he is also an Associate Editor for the journal Hypertension and a public commentator on cardiovascular health. She has a background as a cardiology hospital pharmacist and has over 10 years’ experience in implementation, designing and scaling public health and clinical initiatives nationally.

Kara Hetherington is a Senior Clinical Trials Coordinator at the Victorian Heart Institute, Monash University within The Victorian Heart Hospital. Her research focuses on cardiovascular disease, cardiac imaging, pulmonary vascular disease, and translational cardiovascular science. She has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications spanning coronary artery disease, cardiometabolic health, resuscitation science, and advanced cardiac imaging. Kara has presented her work at national scientific meetings and collaborates across multidisciplinary cardiovascular research programs aimed at improving the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Aung Zaw Zaw Phyo is a Research Fellow at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University, Australia. Aung completed his MSc (with Distinction) specialisation in Epidemiology from the University of Melbourne, Australia, and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. He then obtained his PhD in Epidemiology from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. He currently holds a National Heart Foundation of Australia - Postdoctoral Fellowship. His current research work focuses on a deeper understanding of the biology of ageing, frailty and cardiovascular disease.

Adam Nelson MBBS MBA/MPH PhD FRACP is an early career interventional cardiologist and clinical trialist appointed at the Royal Adelaide and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, and clinical academic at the University of Adelaide. He is a clinical lead of national and international trials evaluating emerging cardiometabolic therapies and vaccines.
