Dr. Seema Mital is a Staff Cardiologist & the Head of Cardiovascular Research at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto, and a Senior Scientist at the SickKids Research Institute. She is also the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada & Robert M Freedom Chair of Cardiovascular Science, and the Scientific Co-Lead of the Ted Rogers Centre for Heart Research. She leads the Cardiac Precision Medicine program at SickKids that leverages genomics, stem cells, AI and digital technology to model disease, test therapies, and implement precision medicine including personalized decision support tools. Dr. Mital established the SickKids Heart Centre Biobank, a multi-centre biorepository for childhood onset heart disease with over 10,000 participants. She leads the ERAPerMed/CIHR funded PROCEED network for Personalized Genomics in congenital heart disease, the multi-centre international Precision Medicine in Cardiomyopathy (PRIMaCY) network, the CIHR-funded multi-centre INSERT-HCM study, co-leads the CIHR-funded Precision Medicine for Heart Failure in the Young (PRIORITY) project of the Canadian Heart Function Alliance, and is a PI on several NIH grants. She is Academic Project Lead for the Genome Canada funded SickKids Precision Child Health Sequencing project that will sequence 10,000 childhood genomes.

Dr Claire Lawley is a paediatric cardiologist and electrophysiologist at Sydney Children's Hospitals Network and Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. She completed her PhD in 2019. She subsequently undertook post graduate fellowships in paediatric inherited cardiovascular disease at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and paediatric electrophysiology and inherited cardiac conditions at The Royal Brompton Hospital. Her clinical and research interests include paediatric arrhythmia, sudden cardiac death and genetic heart disease in children.

Dr. Charlotte Burns is a senior genetic counsellor and the clinic coordinator of the genetic heart disease program at RPA hospital, where she has worked for over 12 years. She has a strong interest in public health and genetics, completing her Master of Public Health and a PhD in genetic heart disease. Her work involves coordinating the multidisciplinary genetic heart disease program at RPA and caring for families with genetic heart disease. Alongside A/Prof Gray she coordinates the sudden death in the young program for the same service. Dr. Burns is also involved in the Centenary Institute's research initiatives, particularly in sudden cardiac death in the young.

Hiroko trained in pediatric cardiology in Japan, Australia and Canada. She was a consultant paediatric cardiologist in Tokyo prior to starting her current job in Sydney as a paediatric cardiologist and electrophysiologist in 2020.

Dr. Patel is a consultant cardiologist with a specialization in advanced heart failure, inherited heart muscle disease, and cardiac devices. He earned a postdoctoral research degree from University College London, where he investigated the role of fibrosis in Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Following this, he completed a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation before establishing the inherited heart muscle disease program at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Western Australia. Dr. Patel remains actively engaged in research aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes and exploring the underlying pathways involved in the development of inherited cardiac diseases.

Andreas is the Clinical Lead of Invasive Electrophysiology at the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne and a Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne as well as Honorary Fellow for the MCRI. He is the current chair of Paediatric EP in the APHRS. In his clinical and scientific work, he has been focusing on invasive electrophysiology, especially the use of 3D systems and other techniques to reduce radiation exposure. Andreas is the steering committee of the Australian research initiative about sudden death in the young and part of the Australian Genomics Cardiovascular Flagship Initiative.
