A/Prof. Haris Haqqani is a Senior Consultant Cardiologist & Electrophysiologist at the Prince Charles Hospital. He was trained at the University of Melbourne, Royal Melbourne Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania. His research has focused on the mechanisms of VT in heart failure. Haris has authored or co-authored more than 100 journal papers, 20 book chapters and several national and global arrhythmia guidelines and is a regularly invited conference speaker.

Professor Jonathan Kalman is an NHMRC practitioner fellow who is head of the Department of Heart Rhythm Disorders at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Professor Kalman has a national and international reputation as a leader in the field of atrial arrhythmias and has authored over 430 peer-reviewed publications, more than 40 book chapters and delivered over 250 invited lectures at national and international meetings. His areas of research interest include mechanisms of atrial arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation, catheter ablation techniques and outcomes and the impact of risk factors on atrial remodelling and atrial arrhythmias. Professor Kalman served on the scientific committee of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand for 10 years; 6 as chairman, is the immediate past president of the Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society having also served for 4 years as scientific chair and is the international member of the Board of Trustees of The North American Heart Rhythm Society. Professor Kalman serves on the editorial board of 12 international cardiology journals including Circulation, JACC and The European Heart Journal. He is an associate editor of JACC-Clinical Electrophysiology. Professor Kalman has received the Simon Dack Award of the Journal of The American College of Cardiology 2014 for outstanding scholarship and service to the Journal, delivered the Paul Wood lecture to the British Cardiovascular Society (2015) and was the keynote Intercontinental lecturer of The European Heart Rhythm Society in 2017. He has also been awarded the Eric Susman prize (2006) of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the R.T. Hall prize (2003) of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand in recognition of sustained and outstanding research achievement. He has trained a generation of Australian electrophysiologists. In 2018 he was awarded an Officer of The Order of Australia for services to cardiology.

Cardiologist and electrophysiologist A/Prof Alex Voskoboinik graduated Monash University Medical School in 2008 with First Class Honors and was the dux of his graduating year level. He won six academic prizes during his medical training. He completed his cardiology advanced training at The Alfred Hospital in 2015 and then completed his subspecialty Clinical Electrophysiology Fellowship at The Alfred and Royal Melbourne Hospitals between 2016 – 2018. Between 2019 – 2020, he undertook further advanced ablation and pacing training at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). He is committed to research, having completed his PhD at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Research Institute and University of Melbourne in 2019 and was awarded the prestigious Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand Ralph Reader Prize for top young investigator. He is currently the recipient of a National Heart Foundation Early Career Fellowship and NHMRC Investigator Grant. He has over 100 publications, including first author publications in leading peer-reviewed journals including New England Journal of Medicine and Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Monash University and holds clinical appointments at Alfred and Cabrini Health.

Dr Russell Denman is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist, he graduated from the University of Queensland with first class honours in 1989. He completed his cardiology and electrophysiology training in Queensland and at the University of Chicago in 2001. He has been clinical Director of Electrophysiology and Pacing at The Prince Charles Hospital since 2002. Russell has extensive experience and research interests in the invasive management of arrhythmias, pacemakers and implantable defibrillators. He is currently chair of The Prince Charles Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee and is a founding partner of CardioVascular Clincis St Andrew’s Spring Hill.

Dr Nick Jackson studied cardiology and electrophysiology at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle and at Toronto General Hospital in Canada. He is now a conjoint senior lecturer with the University of Newcastle and a staff specialist at John Hunter Hospital. During this time his research has included work on ventricular fibrillation in explanted human hearts and new mapping techniques for ventricular tachycardia ablation.

Dr. Juliana Kanawati is a Staff Specialist Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at Nepean Hospital, NSW, where she has practised since 2022. She completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Cardiology, followed by subspecialty training in cardiac electrophysiology at London Health Sciences Centre in Canada, and a further research fellowship in complex arrhythmia at Westmead Hospital, University of Sydney. Her clinical and research focus is the advancement of catheter ablation strategies and cardiac devices, with contributions to peer-reviewed publications and multicentre trials in these areas. She has been an invited speaker at national cardiology meetings on topics including the management of atrial fibrillation. She is an active educator, currently serving as educational supervisor for physician trainees and cardiology advanced trainees at Nepean Hospital.

Associate Professor Raymond Sy is an academic cardiologist with a special interest in heart rhythm disorders. He was awarded the University medal in Medicine at the University of Queensland. He received the Ralph Reader Prize from the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand in 2007. He then completed a two-year fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. Professor Sy has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts in the areas of inherited arrhythmia syndromes, and ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. He is an invited faculty speaker at national and international conferences.
