Cardiology advanced trainee from Westmead hospital, with an interest in heart failure and cardiac imaging

Dr Kritmanjeet Dhamoon is a Cardiology Registrar (PHO) at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He previously served as the inaugural Unaccredited Cardiology Advanced Trainee at Tweed Valley Hospital, where he contributed to the development of new cardiology services including heart failure, antenatal cardiology, and stress testing clinics. He completed Basic Physician Training within the Westmead Network in New South Wales and has a strong clinical interest in interventional cardiology, heart failure management, and multimodality cardiac imaging.

Dr Hiromasa Hayama is a cardiologist specialising in echocardiography and advanced cardiovascular imaging. He is currently affiliated with the School of Clinical Medicine, The University of New South Wales, and the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research in Sydney, Australia. His research focuses on artificial intelligence–based echocardiographic analysis, pulmonary hypertension, and the cardiovascular effects of environmental stressors, including heat stress.

Dr Chiswell is a second-year Cardiology Advanced Trainee in Cardiology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with interests in cardiac imaging and genetic heart diseases.

I received my Medical Degree from the University of Glasgow in 2010 and completed MRCP in 2013. I worked under the NHS system in the UK for 3 years before moving to Singapore. In Singapore, I was admitted to the Internal Medicine residency program, subspecializing in Cardiology as a Senior Resident. Upon completion of my Residency training, I further subspecialized in cardiac MRI and echocardiography. I currently serve as a Consultant at the National Heart Centre Singapore, concurrently holding the positions of Assistant Clinical Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School.

Dr Anthony Lam is a Cardiology Advanced Trainee at Campbelltown Hospital within the South Western Sydney Local Health District. Alongside his clinical training, Dr Lam is actively involved in research and quality improvement, with a focus on and the application of artificial intelligence. Interests include machine learning, reinforcement learning, explainable AI and agentic AI.

The speaker is Matteus Lim, who is a current 1st year Basic Physician Program trainee currently working in Redcliffe, with affiliations to the Department of Cardiology at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Matteus has current interests in cardiac imaging and interventional cardiology.

Sam is a Basic Physican Trainee affiliated with the St Vincent's South West Clinical Network. He obtained his MD from the University of New South Wales in 2023 and has particular interest in arrhythmia and the use of cardiac MRI in evaluation of ventricular ectopy.

Dr Claudia Brick is a 3rd year cardiology advanced trainee who completed her first two years at Austin Health. She gained her medical degree from Monash in 2019, and undertook a Bachelor of Medical Science in Bioethics at Oxford University. She has a strong interest in structural imaging.

Dr. Nic McLellan is a junior doctor undertaking Basic Physician Training at Monash Health Victoria with aspirations towards advanced training in Cardiology. Following completion of his Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Monash University, he has enjoyed gaining broad clinical experience through medical rotations including working at the Victorian Heart Hospital. His growing interest in cardiac health has been supported through the Victorian Heart Institute, where he has contributed to research exploring the use of CT attenuation as a marker for prediction of LV recovery in HFrEF. This area shows promise in refining risk stratification and potential for imaging-based individualised therapy for future patients. Dr McLellan aims to build on this early research foundation to continue developing as a clinician-researcher throughout his training, with a focus on improving the translation of emerging cardiovascular evidence into practical, patient centred care.

Chilan Nguyen is a Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging Fellow at Austin Hospital. Her clinical and academic interests focus on heart failure and cardiomyopathies, with a growing interest in valvular heart disease and structural heart imaging. She is particularly interested in the application of advanced multimodality imaging—including echocardiography and cardiac MRI—for diagnosis, risk stratification, procedural planning, and longitudinal disease monitoring. Chilan is committed to integrating structural and functional myocardial assessment into comprehensive heart failure and valvular heart disease management, with the aim of advancing imaging-guided therapeutic strategies.

I am a cardiology PHO at the Townsville University Hospital. I have recently completed by basic physician training and am working towards attaining a cardiology advanced training position.
