Dr Wang is a cardiologist who is currently the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellow at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at The George Institute for Global Health. Dr Wang has clinical expertise in heart failure and cardiovascular prevention. He has a prolific track record relative to career stage including first author publications in leading journals such as The Lancet, JAMA, JAMA Cardiology, Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology and European Heart Journal. He was the inaugural recipient of Australia’s National Heart Foundation PhD Rising Star Award and his research has attracted extensive funding.

Professor Andrew Sindone has been involved in cardiac research, teaching and improving the lives of those living with cardiovascular disease for almost thirty years. He set up and continues to run the Heart Failure Unit at Concord Hospital with the Heart Failure Clinic, research, rehabilitation and outreach programs. He is involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors, General Practitioners and specialists, and ran a program to update specialists in the management of heart failure over a ten year period. Professor Sindone has received multiple awards and has been Principal Investigator in over 57 international multicentre clinical trials, has presented over 130 research papers and continues to publish in cardiovascular disease. He is a Co-chairman of the NSW Cardiovascular Expert Reference Group, member of the Heart Foundation of Australia, was on the Scientific Committee for the World Congress of Cardiology in 2002 and is co-author of the Australian, Asia-Pacific and Global Guidelines for the Management of Heart Failure. He is patron of multiple charities and assists the Italian Community in education and support of those with heart disease.

Dr Laura Yeates is a certified cardiac genetic counsellor with more than 19 years' experience, working in both research and clinical roles. In 2024, she completed her PhD in genetic counselling under the supervision of A/Prof Jodie Ingles at the Garvan Institute in Sydney, Australia. Her PhD focused on developing a support intervention for families affected by sudden cardiac death as well as well-being in cardiovascular genetic counsellors.
