Dr. Jessup is the Chief Science and Medical Officer of the American Heart Association and an Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She was the Chief Scientific Officer of the Leducq Foundation from January 2017 through August of 2018, before moving to the American Heart Association role.
She practised heart failure and transplant cardiology for 30 years at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she served in a variety of administrative roles, including Medical Chief of the Heart and Vascular program, and Clinical Chief of Cardiology.
She has been a long-time volunteer of the AHA and was a member of the Board of Directors of the national AHA, and President from 2013-2014.

Peter Macdonald AM is a Conjoint Professor of Medicine in the University of New South Wales, Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Unit at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney and Head of the Transplantation Research Laboratory at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. ). His major research interests over the last 35 years have been in the areas of heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, heart transplantation, donor management and organ preservation. He has co-authored over 430 peer-reviewed manuscripts (H index 78).

Dr Sarah Gutman MBBS BMedSci FRACP PhD is Head of Cardiovascular MRI at The Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and a cardiologist at The Alfred Hospital. She specialises in heart failure, transplantation and non-invasive imaging (including cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and echocardiography).
Dr. Gutman’s research interests include the use of cardiac MRI in risk stratification of heart failure patients and treating obesity in patients with heart failure.
