Gregg Belous is a research scientist with the CSIRO Health and Biosecurity Unit, specializing in medical image analysis and machine learning (ML). He has contributed to advancing foundational theories in various ML methodologies, including pattern recognition, subspace learning, probabilistic modelling, and deep learning. Dr. Belous' current research focuses on 3D medical image analysis to aid clinical screening of cardiac structures, computational flow simulations for transcatheter mitral valve intervention, and the early detection of coronary events, heart failure, and valvular diseases.

Emily is a Senior Healthcare Programs Officer at the National Heart Foundation of Australia, leading their patient support and secondary prevention work. After a number of years working as a nutritionist in clinical practice, her passion for cardiovascular disease prevention and desire for population level impact saw her move into public health, where she has worked in both government and not-for-profit for over 15 years. She has extensive experience developing and implementing innovative health programs, with a particular focus on cardiovascular disease prevention and management. Emily has most recently led the development and implementation of the Heart Foundation’s new digital MyHeart MyLife patient support program. Prior to this, Emily led the digital build of the 2023 AusCVDRisk calculator, used by clinicians across the country to assess and manage cardiovascular disease risk. Emily is interested in leveraging digital technology to increase the reach and accessibility of health information and support.
