Dr Atul Verma is the director of cardiology for the McGill University Health Centre and McGill University and is also the Isadore Rosenfeld Chair in Cardiology. He is a full Professor of Medicine. He is an electrophysiologist with an interest in complex ablation, particularly for AF and VT; new technologies; and clinical trials. He has over 300 peer-reviewed publications including in the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA and the Lancet. He is currently an international expert in pulsed field ablation and other novel technologies for cardiac ablation. He has also served as Chair or on the Writing Committee of both national and international guidelines for AF.

Dr Tomos Walters is a cardiac electrophysiologist in private practice in Brisbane. His clinical interests include catheter ablation of complex atrial and ventricular arrhythmia, along with implantation and management of cardiac devices.
Dr Walters gained his medical degree with first class honours from The University of Melbourne. He undertook his advanced training in cardiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He undertook a clinical fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and a PhD studying the electric mechanisms underlying atrial fibrillation at the University of Melbourne.
Dr Walters subsequently completed his clinical and research training at the University of California San Francisco, where he was appointed an Assistant Professor. There, Dr Walters continued his research focus on persistent atrial fibrillation and PVC-associated cardiomyopathy.
Dr Walters has published widely in leading cardiology journals and has presented at numerous domestic and international conferences.

Dr Karen Phillips is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist in private practice in Brisbane. She is a Clinician and Researcher. She heads the Brisbane AF Clinic which is dedicated to the comprehensive management of atrial fibrillation. The clinic is based at Greenslopes Private Hospital, Brisbane – the largest private hospital in Australia.
She underwent specialised training at the Cleveland Clinic, America’s Number One rated Cardiac Hospital in 2006-2007.
She has emerged as an expert and one of the leaders of Atrial Fibrillation Interventional procedures in Australia, including performing Catheter Ablation for AF and implantation of Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion Devices for stroke prevention. She has a strong publication record and has been a vocal patient advocate for new therapies for atrial fibrillation.
