Dr. Khera is a Cardiologist and Data Scientist and the Director of the Cardiovascular Data Science (CarDS) Lab, which is a multidisciplinary group focusing on data-driven discovery in cardiovascular disease. He is the Clinical Director of the Center for Health Informatics and Analytics at the Yale Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation. He is also an Associate Editor for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health at JAMA.
The CarDS Lab, which Dr. Khera leads, is developing and implementing strategies to improve outcomes for patients with or at risk for cardiovascular disease through data-driven innovations in delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care. Dr. Khera’s work focuses on novel applications in artificial intelligence to evaluate patient care and develop precision care solutions. His work spans broad digital data sources, including electronic health records, electrocardiography, cardiovascular imaging, and wearable devices, with applications to modernize US and global healthcare. The work in his Lab is supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation.
Dr. Khera graduated from the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences as a National Young Investigator Scholarship awardee. During his training Dr. Khera received the American College of Cardiology’s Young Investigator Award and the Francois Abboud Young Investigator Award, in addition to being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. For his work at Yale, Dr. Khera received the 2023 ASCI Young Physician-Scientist Award, the 2023 Blavatnik Award, and the 2021 Jeremiah Stamler Award.

Professor Chew has recently transitioned to the role of Director of Monash Heart/Victorian Heart Hospital.
He was previously the Professor of Cardiology at Flinders University, Network Director of Cardiology for the Southern Adelaide Health Local Health Network, and has recently served as the Commissioner on Excellence and Innovation in Health, South Australia. He has completed a Masters of Public Health, at the Harvard School of Public Health, with training in epidemiology, trial design, biostatistics, clinical trials and cost-effectiveness analysis. He has an ongoing contribution to closing evidence gaps in cardiac care, the development of national cardiac guidelines, and the development of electronic systems to improve guideline translation. In collaboration with investigators nationally and internationally, he has studied system, physician and patient level factors contributing to sub-optimal care and outcome.

A/Prof Sandhir B Prasad is a senior staff cardiologist and clinical lead in echocardiography at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. He is a Monash medical graduate, completed his training in cardiology at Wellington Hospital (NZ), and then completed research and clinical fellowships at Westmead Hospital (Sydney), MonashHeart (Melbourne) and Princess Alexandra Hospital (Brisbane). His PhD focused on the pathophysiology and prognostic implications of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction following myocardial infarction.

Prof. Geoff Strange is a clinical observational researcher who has a specialist interest in “Big Data” and its application to further our understanding of a variety of cardiovascular diseases. Geoff is a Professor within the School of Medicine at the University of Sydney and the University of Notre Dame, Australia. Geoff is the Senior Academic lead for the burden of disease study (CHD) base at the Heart Research Institute Sydney and is a member of the cardiology research team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. Geoff is creator, Director and Chief Investigator of the National Echo Database of Australia and New Zealand (NEDA) – the largest mortality linked echocardiographic database in the world covering more than 65 specialist centres across Australia. Geoff has led several governmental initiatives that have resulted in significant translational outcomes for patients (including combination therapy funding for PAH and the National Action Plan on childhood heart disease after establishing the Congenial Heart Alliance of Australia and New Zealand; a research initiative spanning 15 centres across the region resulting in 27 M in funding for the National Action Plan on childhood heart disease from The Hon Minister Hunt).
Geoff’s research interests include, Big Data for Cardiovascular Disease (Structural Heart Disease), Pulmonary Hypertension, Congenital Heart Disease and Echocardiography.

Biography
Professor Clara Chow is Academic Director of the Westmead Applied Research Centre (WARC), Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. She is a cardiologist and Clinical Lead of Community Based Cardiac Services at Westmead hospital. She was appointed to the Board of the National Heart Foundation in 2024 and is also a member of the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) Governing Board, Sydney, Australia. Professor Chow is Director of the Australian Stroke and Heart Accelerator (ASHRA). Her recent award highlights include being a finalist for the NSW Premier’s Woman of the Year - Woman of Excellence Category - in 2024 and 2020 respectively, receiving a Research Australia Digital Health Technology – Highly Commended Award, becoming an Honour of Australia recipient as well as a Fellow of the AAHMS in 2023 and being honoured with a Telstra Health - Brilliant Woman in Digital Health Award in 2022. She holds an honorary appointment as the Charles Perkins Centre Westmead Academic Co-director and is past (first female) President of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. Professor Chow’s research focuses on the prevention of cardiovascular disease, innovation in the delivery of cardiovascular care and the evaluation of digital health interventions. She has expertise in the design, delivery and implementation of clinical trials. Her PhD from the University of Sydney, Australia was in cardiovascular epidemiology and international public Health and her Postdoc from McMaster University, Canada in clinical trials and cardiac imaging. She has over 300 publications including papers in internationally leading medical journals NEJM, JAMA and Lancet. She is supported by an NHMRC Investigator grant.

Biography
Ben Freedman is the Director of External Affairs at the Heart Research Institute Sydney, Honorary Professor of Cardiology at the University of Sydney, and former Head of Cardiology Department at Concord Hospital. Ben's major research interest is stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation. He was awarded an OAM in 2011 for service to medicine as a clinician, educator and researcher. He also received the 2023 NSW ministerial award for cardiovascular research excellence.
