Professor Andrew Maiorana is a clinician researcher with over 30 years’ experience working in cardiac rehabilitation. He is the Head of Department of Exercise Physiology at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth, Western Australia, where he provides clinical exercise testing and training as a component of multidisciplinary cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure services. He also holds the position of Professor of Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Curtin School of Allied Health, Curtin University.
Andrew’s research focuses on optimising exercise testing and training in cardiovascular disease and evaluating new approaches for clinical service delivery. He has a strong interest in the potential of digital health to improve cardiovascular disease prevention and management, and a passion for working with Aboriginal communities to improve cardiovascular health through accessible and culturally appropriate models of care.

Tamrat is a second-year doctoral student at Monash University. He has background in Pharmacy and studied health economics at graduate level. His research interest includes understanding the current and future disease- and cost burden of cardiovascular diseases and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of interventions indicated for people with cardiovascular disease.

Jackson is a PhD candidate with a passion for exercise in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. His research focuses on exercise rehabilitation and left atrial function in atrial fibrillation, heart failure and stroke. Additionally, he is exploring cardiac imaging, pacing, and oxygen kinetics. With experience working with both general and athletic populations, Jackson is greatly motivated to further develop his understanding of exercise and cardiology and make a meaningful contribution to the field.

Amanda Lonn, is a Swedish reg. physiotherapist and did her PhD at the Swedish School of Sport and Health Sciences. She is now a Swedish Heart-Lung Foundation Post-doctoral Research Fellow at University of Canberra. Her area of interest is physical activity and sedentary time in secondary prevention of patients with cardiac disease.
