Biography

Janet Bray is a Professor within the Prehospital, Emergency and Trauma Unit at Monash University and a Heart Foundation Future Leader Fellow. She holds national and international leadership positions in resuscitation. She has a background in cardiac and intensive care nursing and her research program aims to improve the public’s recognition and response to acute cardiovascular symptoms and improve the evidence-base for acute cardiovascular care.

Incretin therapies: What do multidisciplinary clinicians need to know?

Biography

After establishing a world-first clinical exercise physiology service in a cardiac transplant unit, Prof Green’s research provided a compelling evidence-base for disease prevention by quantifying the mechanisms and benefits of novel interventions to prevent and manage cardiovascular (CV) diseases. Central to his discoveries was development of novel imaging techniques, now used worldwide, which directly quantify CV function. To translate his knowledge gains, he pioneered new allied health professions (Clinical Exercise Physiology) in Australia and the UK, resulting in national practitioner registries, proficiency standards and curriculum frameworks. He has directly impacted health service provision and higher education platforms globally.

Joshua is a clinical pharmacist and PhD candidate from the University of Newcastle. His research centres around the growing field of cardio-onology, with a particular interest in the cardiometabolic sequelae associated with novel anti-cancer pharmacotherapies. Joshua's research interests also include pharmacist-led models of care to support the quality use of medicines of people transitioning between hospital and home.

Tim Chang is the Cardiology and Respiratory Team Lead Pharmacist at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Perth. He graduated in pharmacy from Curtin University of Technology in 2008 before completing a graduate diploma of clinical pharmacy from the University of Tasmania in 2016. Having been a pharmacist at Bentley and Royal Perth Hospitals, he transitioned to Fiona Stanley Hospital during its commissioning in 2014. Tim is the pharmacist for the Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant team at Fiona Stanley Hospital.
