A/Prof Pragnesh Joshi is a Cardiothoracic surgeon and Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. He is a RACS supervisor of training. His area of interests are minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic surgery and corrective cardiac surgery. His field of expertise are RAT AVR, aortic valve repair and re-implantation, AF surgeries and minimally invasive mitral valve repair.

Emily is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist working at the Victorian Heart Hospital, as Deputy director of Victorian Heart Rhythm Service.
Emily completed her EP Fellowship in Canada, then established the AF ablation program at Monash Heart, with RF and cryoablation, and pulsed field ablation. She established the AF hybrid ablation service with the surgical team, to treat all presentations of AF.

Professor Weerasooriya is a UWA graduate (MBBS, BMedSci (hons) 1988-1994) who completed physician and cardiology advanced training at Royal Perth Hospital. Rukshen completed an overseas fellowship from 2001-2003 in Hopital Cardiologique du Haut Leveque in Bordeaux, France. He is based fulltime at Hollywood Private Hospital in Nedlands where he leads the cardiovascular craft group.
Rukshen is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UWA and is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and mentorship. He also maintains a position as visiting scientist at the LIRYC Institute of advanced cardiac arrhythmia mapping in Bordeaux.
Rukshen is involved in clinical research primarily relating to catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation.
The UWA Weerasooriya Family Medical Scholarship was established in 2020 to encourage and support students in challenging circumstances to study medicine or biomedical sciences at UWA.
