Dr Martin is a general paediatrician working at Perth Children's Hospital. He has made major contributions to paediatric familial hypercholesterolaemia (FH) within Australia, leading the publication of the first national guidelines for paediatric FH in 2012 and establishing a clinical service for paediatric FH in WA. In recent years he has focussed his efforts on developing better approaches to detect FH in children, specifically innovative models of population screening in early childhood. He currently leads the “FH in Kids” study, an enhanced program for improving the detection and management of children with FH in WA.
