Dr Paratz is an academic cardiologist from St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research. She completed her PhD in 2023 in the field of cardiac arrest and undertook a cardiac imaging fellowship in 2023. Her research interests include cardiac arrest, big data and aviation cardiology.

Lucy is a Senior Exercise Physiologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH), specialising in cardiovascular rehabilitation. She is also pursuing a PhD at the University of Western Australia (UWA) on eccentric versus concentric cycle training in heart failure. Lucy's dedication extends to academia, where she has taught and supervised high-degree by research students, and actively participated in clinical trials. Further, she has a crucial role in establishing the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Exercise Rehabilitation Service at FSH. Lucy is driven by ensuring valuable contributions to the scientific community and advancing cardiovascular rehabilitation.

Associate Professor Nicole Freene is a clinical physiotherapist and academic at the University of Canberra. Her research focuses on increasing physical activity levels and decreasing sedentary behaviour in adults, both in healthy and cardiac populations, and physical activity promotion by health professionals. Nicole is the co-chair of the Asia-Pacific Society of Physical Activity Special Interest Group Physical Activity in Healthcare, and board member of the Heart Foundation ACT and Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association (ACRA) NSW/ACT.

Dr Guoyan (Emily) Yang is a Research Support Program Fellow in Healthy Ageing at NICM Health Research Institute, Western Sydney University. Her research focuses on evaluating complementary and integrative medicine interventions, particularly Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, and Tai Chi in the prevention and management of chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases. Her expertise includes clinical trials, systematic reviews, mixed methods, qualitative studies, and reporting guidelines. She has published over 70 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and has been invited to present her research findings in many domestic and international conferences.
Dr Yang is also a Tai Chi instructor with over 17 years of Tai Chi experience, co-founder of the Boyuan Tai Chi for Health Association, and lead the Tai Chi classes at the Next Practice Western Sydney Integrative Health clinic, Western Sydney University.

Robyn Gallagher is Professor of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine and Health, Sydney Nursing School based at the Charles Perkins Centre. Professor Gallagher focusses on supporting patients to engage in secondary prevention behaviours to reduce their risk of future cardiovascular events. She leads intervention programs that use technology to support behaviour change in cardiac patients. Her work has been internationally recognised, won awards and altered clinical practice leading to significant changes in policy. She received the University of Sydney Vice Chancellor's Award for HDR Supervisor of the Year 2023. Robyn is Chair of the International Council of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation and immediate past President of the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association, and CSANZ Cardiovascular Nursing Council and Associate Editor of the European Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing. She is Fellow of: the American Academy of Nursing, the European Society of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
