Biography

Professor Andrew Taylor is a full-time a consultant cardiologist with the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Alfred Hospital, and a NHMRC Leadership Investigator at Monash University. He works as a clinician in the Heart Failure and Transplant Unit, and has a strong research interest in advanced cardiac imaging techniques and heart failure. In 2002, Prof. Taylor carried out a year of post doctoral research in Berlin, Germany, in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging, and he heads both the CMR and cardiac CT angiography services at the Alfred Hospital. Prof. Taylor has been an invited speaker in cardiac imaging at numerous local and international cardiology meetings, and he has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles, including in the highest ranking cardiology journals Circulation and JACC.

Biography

Dr Pantazis has many years of experience working within the field of cardiomyopathies and is currently working out of Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals. He was first appointed as a consultant cardiologist at the Heart Hospital, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), in 2007, and then went on to work as a consultant cardiologist at Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, in May 2015. He was the leading cardiologist at UCLH’s neuromuscular complex care centre (NMCCC) in the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. He was also the leading cardiologist for the interventional and surgical programmes for the management of left-ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO) in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Biography

Leslie T. Cooper, M.D., is the Elizabeth C. Lane and M. Nadine Zimmerman Professor of Internal Medicine and the chair of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Florida. Dr. Cooper's clinical interests and research focus on clinical and translational studies of rare and undiagnosed cardiomyopathies, myocarditis, inflammatory cardiac and vascular diseases such as giant cell myocarditis, cardiac sarcoidosis, eosinophilic myocarditis, and Takayasu's arteritis. He has published over 200 original peer-reviewed papers and over 100 book chapters, review articles and editorials on myocarditis. In addition, he has worked with clinicians and researchers around the world to further diagnosis, treatment, and care for myocarditis and cardiomyopathies. In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Cooper is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the European Society of Cardiology Heart Failure Association, the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology. He is also the founder and former president of the Myocarditis Foundation and continues to serve on their board of directors.

Biography

Dr Nick Davidson is an interventional cardiology fellow at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) in Western Australia. He worked with the heart failure unit at FSH during his advanced training and retains a keen interest in the management of patients with cardiomyopathies and cardiogenic shock.
