Dr Gustavo Duarte was trained as a Haematologista and Transfusion Medicine Specialist, currently working at the New Zealand Blood Service in Christchurch. He is highly involved with therapeutic apheresis, cellular therapy and Patietn blood management initiatives.

Annette Neylon trained in Haematology in Newcastle Tyne, UK, completing fellowships with Royal Colleges of Physicians and Pathologists and an MD. She worked as a Specialist Haematologist in UK, later becoming Clinical Lead in Dunedin, and currently works with New Zealand Blood Service, combining haematology and transfusion medicine. Annette is the previous New Zealand Councillor and Vice-President of HSANZ.
