Dr. Issa is a clinical and translational researcher in the Departments of Leukemia and Genomic Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His research focuses on the genetic drivers of leukemia to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities, elucidate mechanisms of disease progression and treatment resistance, and develop safe and effective targeted therapies. His clinical research is centered on menin inhibitors, a novel class of targeted therapies for acute leukemia. As Principal Investigator of numerous investigator-initiated studies and multi-institutional clinical trials, he has helped advance the clinical development of menin inhibitors, contributing to the FDA approvals of revumenib and ziftomenib. At MD Anderson, he leads a precision medicine program for acute leukemias susceptible to menin inhibition, with a focus on biomarker discovery, measurable residual disease (MRD) assays, mechanisms of resistance, and rational combination therapies. Dr. Issa has authored publications in leading journals, including Nature, The New England Journal of Medicine, Cell, Journal of Clinical Oncology, The Lancet Oncology, and Blood. His work has been recognized with numerous honors, including the ASCO Young Investigator Award, the TRTH Award from ASH and EHA, the Paul Calabresi K12 Award, the MD Anderson Faculty Scholar Award, and the Andrew Sabin Award.

Prof Andrew Wei (MBBS, PhD, FAHMS) is a clinical haematologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He also runs a laboratory in the Division of Blood Cells and Blood Cancer, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research (WEHI), supported by a leukaemia fellowship from the Metcalf family. Dr Wei completed doctoral studies at WEHI in the field of apoptosis and has had an active role in the field of BH3-mimetics for AML. Dr Wei has contributed to the clinical development and approval of venetoclax and oral azacitidine for AML. Clinically, he has an active interest in the incorporation of measurable residual disease for pre-emptive intervention and the development of novel approaches to target TP53 mutated AML

Dr Ing Soo Tiong is a clinical and laboratory haematologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital, where his work integrates molecular diagnostics with the care of patients with acute leukaemia and myeloid neoplasms. He led the VALDAC trial of MRD-directed therapy in AML and serves on the European LeukemiaNet AML MRD Working Group.

Dr Sun Loo is a Consultant Haematologist with subspecialty expertise in acute leukaemia and myeloid malignancies, with active involvement in clinical trials. Her PhD research focuses on measurable residual disease (MRD) and MRD-directed therapies in acute myeloid leukaemia.

Travis Perera is a Haematologist and Stem Cell Transplant Physician at Wellington Hospital. He is actively involved in clinical research and is current chair of the NZ Haematology Research group, principal investigator for a number of clinical trials, and the New Zealand representative on the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma group (ALLG) Scientific Advisory Committee.
