Jemma Fenwick is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney investigating the vascular immunology of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. Her research explores how HIT immune complexes interact with endothelial and immune cells to drive thrombo-inflammation, with a focus on understanding mechanisms of disease pathogenesis and resolution.

Prisca completed her Pharmacy degree and did her PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology in Germany. She joined the Hollenhorst lab at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical in Boston, USA, as a postdoctoral fellow. She received a Walter Benjamin Fellowship from the German Research Foundation for her work.

Dr Ibrahim Tohidi-Esfahani is a haematologist at Concord Hospital and post-doctoral researcher at University of Sydney. He completed a PhD in procoagulant platelets at the University of Sydney, and an Antiphospholipid Syndrome fellowship in the UK. He continues his basic and translational research at the ANZAC Research Institute in Sydney.

Dr Lu is a haematology advanced trainee in Sydney, Australia.

This study investigates vorticity-induced platelet aggregation mediated by von Willebrand Factor using our novel high-aspect-ratio microfluidic platform. This system enables precise interrogation of vortex-enhanced biomechanical interactions, offering new insights into thrombus formation dynamics relevant to cardiovascular pathologies (e.g., atherosclerosis stenosis) and the design of blood-contacting medical devices.

Yolanda Tan is a PhD candidate at the Centenary Institute and the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on how redox regulation of disulfide bond formation influences platelet integrin αIIbβ3 function, with the aim of identifying biomarkers for bleeding disorders of unknown cause (BDUC).

Ian is a laboratory haematologist with Awanui Labs, Dunedin. He has researched the genetics of familial thrombocytopenia for over 20 years at the University of Otago.

Philip Choi is an Associate Professor at ANU and Senior Staff Specialist at The Canberra Hospital, Clinical Director of the National Platelet Research and Referral Centre (NPRC), Principal Clinical Haematology Editor of Platelets, Platelet Disorders Theme Leader ISTH 2026, and former co-chair of the Platelet Immunology Subcommittee of the ISTH.
