Priya Patel is a Senior Medical Scientist in the Transfusion Medicine Department at Fiona Stanley Hospital. She has over 15 years of experience in blood banking and immunohematology across multiple tertiary hospitals in Perth. Her special interests include impact of newly emerging cellular therapies on blood product use and demand.

Annette Neylon trained in Haematology in Newcastle Tyne, UK, completing fellowships with Royal Colleges of Physicians and Pathologists and an MD. She worked as a Specialist Haematologist in UK, later becoming Clinical Lead in Dunedin, and currently works with New Zealand Blood Service, combining haematology and transfusion medicine.

Debbie has worked as Transfusion Clinical Nurse Consultant at Latrobe Regional Health in Victoria, Australia for the past 15 years. She has post graduate qualifications in Critical Care and Transfusion Practice. She also teaches nursing undergraduates at her local Tafe.

Stephanie O’Connor is a BloodSafe Transfusion Nurse Consultant at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, a role she has held for four years. Previously, she was NUM of the ICU Research Unit for 22 years, providing leadership and supporting the development and conduct of critical care clinical studies.

Christine Akers worked in oncology and haematology for 12 years before becoming the Transfusion Nurse at Alfred Health in 2004. During this time, she gained extensive clinical and leadership experience across a range of roles. Christine has continued in the Transfusion Nurse role at Alfred Health and, in 2014, also took on the role of Transfusion Nurse for the Blood Matters Program. She now works two days per week at Alfred Health and five days per fortnight with Blood Matters. Christine completed the Basic Cancer Nursing Course at Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute in 1991, the Graduate Certificate in Nursing Science (Apheresis) through the University of Adelaide in 2003, and the Graduate Certificate in Transfusion Practice at the University of Melbourne in 2005.

Dr Maree Perry is an Aboriginal academic and researcher dedicated to understanding how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples think, feel and believe about blood, including blood donation and blood transfusion. Through community-engaged research, she seeks to contribute to culturally safe healthcare and improve equity in blood and transfusion services.

Rebecca McLean is the Clinical Nurse Consultant at Perth Children's Hospital in Western Australia. Rebecca is also a member of the ANZSBT council as well as the Engagement and Learning Committee.
