Professor Shirley D’Sa, MD, FRCP, FRCPath, is Professor of Haematology at University College London and a Consultant Haematologist at University College London Hospitals (UCLH), where she has developed a highly specialised clinical and research programme in Waldenström macroglobulinaemia (WM) and related IgM-mediated disorders. She has particular expertise in WM, IgM monoclonal gammopathies of clinical significance, cold agglutinin disease, cryoglobulinaemia, POEMS syndrome and the neurological complications of monoclonal gammopathies. She is the haematology lead for the joint Neurohaematology Service at UCLH and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, which brings together haematology and neurology expertise for patients with complex paraprotein-associated neurological disorders, including IgM-related neuropathies and Bing–Neel syndrome. Professor D’Sa’s clinical and academic research focuses on improving the diagnosis and treatment of WM and other rare IgM-related disorders. She has been Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator for numerous clinical trials evaluating novel therapies in WM and has contributed to national and international consensus recommendations and treatment guidelines. Her research interests encompass novel therapeutics, disease biology, neurological complications of haematological disease, and the use of prospective registry and real-world data to improve outcomes in rare diseases. She established the Rory Morrison Registry, a UK national registry for WM and related IgM disorders, and has been closely involved in developing collaborative clinical and translational research networks in these diseases. She has published extensively in WM and related disorders and is a regular invited speaker at national and international haematology meetings. A central theme of Professor D’Sa’s work is the development of multidisciplinary approaches to rare and complex haematological disorders, connecting specialist clinical care, clinical trials, translational research and international collaboration to improve outcomes for patients.

Anna Sureda, (MD, PhD) is nowadays the Head of the Clinical Hematology Department of Institut Català d’Oncologia – Hospitalet, Barcelona. She had previously been a Senior Consultant in Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona (from January 1991 to December 2010) and a Senior Consultant focused on lymphomas and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) at Addenbrookes–Cambridge University Hospital, UK (December 2010 – December 2012). Anna Sureda has focused her career on clinical investigations into the treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and multiple myeloma patients evaluating novel therapies such as immunotherapy combined with stem-cell transplantation. Anna Sureda was appointed Chairperson of the Lymphoma Working Party (LWP) of the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) from March 2004 to March 2010 and Secretary of the same organization from March 2010 to March 2016. She was elected co-chair of the Lymphoma Committee of the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) and has served the organization in this position from February 2015 to February 2019. She was subsequently appointed as member of a large non-US Transplant Center in the Advisory Committee of the CIBMTR (from February 2019). Anna Sureda has been President of the Spanish Society of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (GETH-TC) and, from March 2022 till March 2026, President of the EBMT. Anna Sureda is a regular reviewer of several peer reviewed journals (Blood, Annals of Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplantation, The Hematology Journal, The European Journal of Hematology y Annals of Hematology) and has co-authored more than 400 manuscripts.

He serves as Cancer Program director at Monash Health, research lead CLL/indolent lymphoma, Chair, CLL Scientific Working Party of ALLG and founder/chair of the Australasian Lymphoma and Related Diseases Registry.
