Dr Dasyam is a Research Fellow at the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research. He established exploratory assays for Aotearoa’s first CAR T-cell clinical trial. His research uses long-read sequencing to characterise transgene insertions, alongside spectral flow cytometry, transcriptomics, transgene design and lentiviral engineering to study and help improve cell therapies.

Filip Radenkovic is a postdoctoral researcher at the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood and the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. His research focuses on using recombinant protein technologies to improve clinical testing and the mechanism by which alloantibodies and other blood storage by-products can cause adverse transfusion reactions.

Mia is a Research Officer at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. She has a Master of Diagnostic Genomics from the Queensland University of Technology. Her work focuses on blood group genomics, specifically expanding the capability and application of non-invasive prenatal testing using next-generation sequencing to improve transfusion and prenatal care outcomes.

Kelly is a research fellow in Product Development and Transfusion Studies at Lifeblood. Kelly’s research focuses on improving blood component quality and manufacturing efficiencies and extending the shelf-life of blood components. Her recent research includes translation of new products from research to clinical and work in the Frozen Blood program.

Worked at NZBS for 7 years, with the last 3 years as Clinical Director for Blood, Plasma and Laboratories. Previous roles include: Consultant in Donor Medicine at NHS Blood and Transplant (3 years), Consultant Haematologist in North West London (9 years), Researcher at Bristol Institute for Transfusion Sciences (2 years).

Patrick is a Clinical Scientist in Donor and Patient Testing at the New Zealand Blood Service. His career spans more than two decades across transfusion medicine, infectious diseases, molecular diagnostics and public health, and he has held scientific and research roles at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the UK Health Security Agency. His broad interests in transfusion medicine are reflected in a diverse range of initiatives he has led, spanning blood components development, immunohaematology, transfusion transmitted infectious diseases and blood supply strategy.
