Dr. Michelle Lavin is a Consultant Haematologist in the National Coagulation Centre, St. James’s Hospital, Dublin, Ireland and researcher in the Trinity Centre for Reproductive Sciences and Women’s Health. Her doctoral and postdoctoral work focused on von Willebrand Disease (VWD) and phenotypic variability, particularly in the setting of low von Willebrand Factor (VWF) levels. Her current research programme centres on improving recognition and diagnosis of heavy menstrual bleeding to enhance care for Women and Girls+ with Bleeding Disorders (WGBD+). Dr. Lavin serves as the Chair of the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) VWD Committee, the European Association for Haemophilia and Allied Disorders (EAHAD) WGBD Working Group and as an Associate Member of the FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) Menstrual Disorders and Related Health Impacts Committee. She previously served as a Co-Chair on the ISTH VWF Scientific Subcommittee and as an invited expert on the 2021 ASH/ISTH/NHF/WFH Management of VWD guidelines & the 2021 EAHAD Principles of Care for WGBD. She has been the recipient of the Highlights of ISTH award, the Eberhard F. Mammen Young Investigator Award and, most recently, the Irish Haemophilia Society Lifetime Achievement Award for Services to Haemophilia.

Renee Eslick is a haematologist and obstetric physician at Canberra Hospital. She is a founding member of the Haematology in Obstetrics and Women’s Health (HOW) Collaborative, on the steering committee for the Living Evidence in Australian Pregnancy and Postnatal Care (LEAPP) guidelines, and the Women’s Haemostasis and Thrombosis Theme Lead for ISTH Congress 2027.

Dr Karen Breen is a consultant haematologist with a specialist interest in Thrombosis and Haemostasis and is Clinical Director of Haematology and supporting services at Guys and St.Thomas’ NHS foundation Trust. She trained in Haematology in Ireland and moved to the UK to conduct research in Antiphospholipid syndrome leading to an MD. Her main area of clinical interest is in Thrombosis, she helping to set up and run a PERT service and works closely with the Venous vascular service in managing venous interventions at GSTT. She is currently involved in several clinical trials and in translational research in antiphospholipid syndrome.

Sara Ng is haematologist based in Sydney, Australia. She is the current Director of the Thrombosis & Haemostasis and Director of Haematology Advanced Training in SWSLHD. Her clinical and research interests are in thrombosis and haemostasis. She sits as a current co-chair on the ISTH SSC of Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Therapies.
