Professor Sunil Badve is a Senior Staff Specialist in Nephrology at St George Hospital, Sydney; Conjoint Professor of Medicine at UNSW Medicine; and Program Lead, Cardiometabolic Trials, Renal and Metabolic Division at the George Institute for Global Health. He obtained his nephrology training in Mumbai, India, and Ottawa, Canada, and has been practicing as a consultant nephrologist in Australia since 2009. He was awarded PhD by the University of Queensland in 2016 for a thesis ‘Therapeutic interventions to improve clinical outcomes in advanced chronic kidney disease’.
Professor Badve’s research focus is in randomised controlled trials, meta-analyses and epidemiology, particularly in the progression of chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular disease, and associated mortality in chronic kidney disease. He has received more than $12 million in NHMRC research funding as a chief investigator.
Professor Badve is the Nephrology Subject Editor for the Internal Medicine Journal and serves on the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Kidney Diseases. He is a fellow of the Australasian College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology.

A/Prof Jennifer Curnow is Director, Clinical Haematology, Westmead Hospital and Director, Westmead Hospital Haemophilia Treatment Centre. She is chair of THANZ Education subcommittee, NSW Clinical Excellence Commission (CEC) Anticoagulant medicines working party and NSW CEC VTE prevention expert advisory group having co-authored national/state guidance documents in the fields of thrombosis/haemostasis.

Dr Hiu Lam Agnes Yuen is a clinical and laboratory haematologist. She is currently undertaking a PhD on upper limb deep vein thrombosis. This research is through Monash University and the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases and facilitated by a Monash Health Haematology Research Grant.
