Professor Flower is a National Leader in R&D at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. A range of projects carried out by Prof Flower’s research team includes interest in transfusion transmitted infections, ex vivo culture of erythroid cells, complications following transfusion and application of modelling and massively parallel sequencing to analyse blood group variants. Outcomes of his research activities include over 400 publications, completion by 87 post graduate students with many tests developed and implemented into business as usual within Lifeblood.
