She is a health economist with a focus on health technology assessments, where she evaluates the cost-effectiveness of medical technologies for the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) in Australia

He has received numerous awards, research grants and co-authored 50 scientific papers. His interests include improving transfusion practices, critical bleeding and appropriate use of blood and blood products

Biography

Thomas received a MSc degree in 2020 from the University of Melbourne in the field of cancer-immunology where he investigated cancer effects on stromal cells in secondary lymphoid organs. He started his PhD with Lifeblood in 2021 where he examines the interaction of platelets components and cancer cells.

Biography

Since completing her PhD in 2009, Kelly has worked on improving blood processing and component quality. Her recent research includes work in the Frozen Blood program, comparing red cell additive solutions and enhancing the deglycerolisation process to improve product quality; and also, to extended storage of plasma and plasma components.
