Biography

Dr. Amy Dennett is an APA Titled Cancer physiotherapist and Victorian Cancer Agency Fellow at Eastern Health and La Trobe University. She completed her PhD in 2018 which focussed on improving physical activity levels of cancer survivors through cancer rehabilitation. Amy’s research has a strong focus on implementing different models of care within health services to improve access to exercise and physical activity support for people with cancer. Amy has led the development of many oncology rehabilitation programs in Victoria including at Eastern Health, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. She is also the creator of the Cancer Exercise Toolkit, a website aimed at exercise professionals to assist them in developing exercise-based oncology rehabilitation programs. Amy also sits on several committees shaping exercise and survivorship care in Australia, including the Australian Physiotherapy Association Cancer, Palliative Care and Lymphodema Career Pathway working group and Clinical Oncology Society of Australia Exercise Implementation working group.

Care Plus – a study exploring early intervention with palliative care

Biography

Kylee Bellingham is a Research Fellow with the Palliative Nexus research group, based at University of Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. She was a co-ordinator for the Care Plus study, a three-year NHMRC-funded mixed-method, multi-site implementation trial of early palliative care for patients with advanced cancer.

Biography

Lindsay has worked in haematology since moving to Melbourne in 2011. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient areas and was the Myeloma Clinical Nurse Consultant at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre. Lindsay now splits her time between the Northern Hospital where she works in Day Oncology and the SURC clinic, and Epworth Freemasons where she is the Haematology and Cell Therapies Nurse Educator. Lindsay is also the chair of the Victorian HSANZ Nurses’ Group where she has worked with a committee to arrange the program for this year’s conference.
