Flow cytometric monitoring of lymphoid malignancies following antigen-directed immunotherapies
3:00 PM - 3:30 PMBiography
Dr Kah Lok Chan is a clinical and laboratory haematologist. He obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the University of Melbourne in 2009, followed by joint specialist training in haematology through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2018. Kah Lok also recently completed NHMRC/HSANZ-supported PhD studies through the Sir Peter MacCallum Department of Oncology, in which he investigated epigenetic mechanisms of cancer immune evasion with a particular focus on MHC class II repression in acute myeloid leukaemia and melanoma, and identified novel therapeutic strategies to restore MHC class II expression and potentially improve immunotherapy outcomes in these cancers.
Kah Lok works in the haematopathology department at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia, where he has a special interest in the diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic monitoring of haematological malignancies by multiparametric flow cytometry. He also maintains an active clinical interest in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and other lymphoproliferative disorders, and is a member of the Australasian Leukaemia & Lymphoma Group (ALLG) CLL Scientific Working Party.
