Biography

Hannah Kelly is a Senior Research Nurse at Parkville Cancer Clinical Trials Unit at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. After graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing from La Trobe University, she continued her education by completing a Graduate Certificate in Oncology Nursing. Having consolidated her extensive experience in Acute Leukemia, Autologous and Allogenic Stem Cell transplants she is now specialising in running clinical trials for Multiple Myeloma, Indolent Lymphoma and Myeloproliferative Neoplasms. Her current work is in the highly specialised space of novel therapies for Multiple Myeloma, with a portfolio including the delivery of CAR-T cell therapy and bispecific antibody treatments.

Biography

Kat grew up and completed the majority of her medical and haematology training in the UK, before relocating to Australia to complete her specialist training as a Clinical Research and Lymphoma Fellow in 2018. She has an interest in lymphoma and is working in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Linear Clinical Research in Perth, Western Australia. She has extensive experience as a sub investigator on a large number of clinical trials, with a focus on lymphoma and CLL, and has recently begun to gain experience as a clinical trial principal investigator. She is active in investigator initiated research and has led and collaborated on several retrospective clinical studies, including a large international study investigating the effectiveness of systemic methotrexate in preventing CNS relapse in aggressive B-cell lymphoma, for which she was awarded the ASH-HSANZ Outstanding Abstract award in 2021, and was recently published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She is one of two inaugural Early Career Clinician Researcher in the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG) and was awarded Early Career Cancer Researcher of the Year in 2022. Outside of her work as a haematologist she is a wife, mum of two young girls and enjoys running.

Biography

Alex Rivalland works at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital as the Graft versus Host Disease Clinical Nurse Consultant. Amongst other postgraduate studies, she is completing her Masters in Advanced Nursing Practice as a Nurse Practitioner Candidate. Her particular practice and research interests are in; post allograft care, viral infections post allograft, palliative care, optimising and educating carers as well as GVHD management.
