Biography

Dr Lisa Clarke is a specialist Haematologist and Transfusion medicine specialist who holds dual fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia. She has appointments at Sydney Adventist Hospital, the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood and Laverty Pathology. Her special interests include Obstetric Haematology, Transfusion Medicine and Obstetric Haematology, Thrombosis and Haemostasis Lisa has completed a Master of Clinical Epidemiology and has been published in the areas of Iron deficiency, Inherited bleeding disorders, Obstetric patient blood management AND Vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia. Lisa is part of the National Blood Transfusion Committee Secretariat, a member of the Haematology in Obstetrics and Women’s health Collaborative Steering Committee, ANZSBT and THANZ.

Biography

Dr Richard Charlewood trained in South Africa and the United Kingdom as a haematologist. He has also studied computer science in South Africa. Since 2003, he has worked as a Transfusion Medicine Specialist at the New Zealand Blood Service, based in Auckland. His clinical interests are wide-ranging and include clinical transfusion practice improvement, transfusion information systems and infectious diseases.

Biography

Chris is the Acting Medical Director of Pathology at Austin Health. He has extensive experience in laboratory haematology and transfusion medicine and in consultative laboratory haematology for patients with haemolysis, critical bleeding, haemostatic disorders, and for patients undergoing ABO-mismatched organ transplantation. He has received several major awards for his national contributions to transfusion medicine.
